Sure, we would all love to go out and buy a $500 clunker for our teens to drive, but will that car keep our teens safe as they learn to master the many skills of driving? I created this blog to help other parents identify cars that will keep their teens as safe as possible while driving out on their own. The Top 3 Reasons You Should Lease Your First Vehicle

Did you just get your license? If you now have a license and would like to have a vehicle to drive, you are probably trying to figure out if you should purchase a car or if you should start to lease one. While it all depends on your situation, leasing a vehicle does have its advantages that you can benefit from when you are getting a car for the first time. Here are some reasons leasing may be the right choice for you. 

You Are Indecisive About What You Want to Drive

As a new driver, you may not know exactly which type of car you want to drive for a long time. Even if you find something you like now, you may realize that you are going to want to switch things up in a year or two. If you do not want to have the same car for many years, it is better to lease so that you do not bother investing too much of your money into a vehicle that you are going to get tired of driving within a short period.

You May Save Money on Car Expenses Each Month

No matter what car you are driving, you will have to deal with certain expenses, such as the cost of gas and insurance coverage. When you think of how much money you will spend on a good insurance plan and gas to fill your tank throughout the month, you would probably like to save money in any possible way that you can. Leasing allows you to save because you are not paying for the full cost of the car and are instead paying for the depreciation of it. It is for this reason that the monthly payments are considerably much lower than the monthly payments you would need to make if you purchased a vehicle. For example, you may be able to afford a Lexus for lease but not be able to afford the payments to actually buy it. 

You Are Not Planning to Drive Too Much

Although you now have your license, you may only need to drive around to a few different places, such as work and the grocery store. If you do not plan to drive too much, leasing is a great option. When you lease a vehicle, you sign an agreement that includes details about the amount of mileage you will put on that vehicle while you have it. As long as you know you can stay within that mileage amount without going over, you should not have a problem.

If you want to get a car because you have just passed your driving test and have received your license, you need to decide if you are going to buy or lease a vehicle. If you like switching things up from time to time, want to save money every month, and are not planning to put too much mileage on the vehicle, leasing is a great choice.
